As part of my career in education, I spent a total of nine years working in Moosonee, Ontario. That tiny community is located close to the shore of James Bay, in the territory of the Cree Nation. Over the years in Moosonee, I had the pleasure of getting acquainted with the bishop of the Catholic Church for that region. He was very open, warm and friendly. I was always impressed with the wisdom that he brought to his high position. Moreover, he had a regal ‘air’ about himself, but without being aloof. He loved the Cree people.
